Coffee has four age old enemies; heat, light, air and moisture. The way coffee is stored is essential to keeping it fresh and ready to enjoy. Storing coffee in conditions that expose it to these elements will allow for the coffee to lose its flavor rapidly. - Coffee should be stored in an airtight container. We suggest either a glass, metal or ceramic version. Coffee should not be stored in the freezer, contrary to popular belief, as it leads to moisture extracting the flavor of the coffee. Coffee Basics: Know your Grind

Fine Ground: At a fine grind, coffee should be soft to the touch – slightly finer than granulated sugar. Espresso: Great espresso requires skill, patience and quality equipment. Coffee Basics: Types of Roasts

To best determine your preferred roast level, here are the four categories of roast levels that Heritage Coffee utilizes: Light Roast:This type of roast is light brown in color and preferred for more mild-bodied coffees. These beans should not have any oil on the surface. Medium Roast: This type of roast is medium brown in color with a non-oily surface.
